Souls is a collection of people I have met, some more intimately than the rest, some fleeting interactions and a special few that I can only hold in memory. This is my appreciation for the miracles of the sapien bonds that I have been a witness to.

In my teens, i was shown a very simple piece of print work by someone dear to me.

The essence of the piece has been held close to my heart ever since.

In the moments where i experience the nerve-wrecking excitement of meeting someone new, the familiarity of age old friendships, or the heavy nostalgia of the emptiness left behind by someone special, this piece called 'It's a miracle we ever met' by Hallie Bateman comes to mind. Take a moment to stare at it.

Finding your friends and loved ones in a world full of strangers feels a little like collecting seashells at the beach. For the few that you pocket and bring home to treasure, there are tons and tons of seashells that you may have kicked about with your feet in the sand without realising it. There are those amazing ones that you missed cause you were looking elsewhere. A few more that were picked up and considered, only to be dropped back in the sand.

For the few chance or circumstantial encounters with strangers that turned dear, there are countless fleeting interactions that i have been blessed to experience. No matter how faint in memory now, those interactions (the crossing of our trails) will remain in that moment forever.

When you stumble on something you didn’t know that somebody else felt too, you think, oh my gosh, I’m not the only one. That is a falling in love – it’s the self recognized in someone else. A union of souls.
— Conversations on Love

This is my appreciation for the strangers who remained as strangers, for the special ones that became my chosen friends and for those that i wished were still here to stay.

It's a miracle we all ever met.

miss you dad
